The second therapy stay

On 15-19 June 2015 the Foundation organized the second therapy stay. This time, the meeting brought together children with autism spectrum disorders, their siblings and parents. The children had social skills training, PCS therapy, psychological and pedagogical therapy and relaxation. The parents had theirs own meetings with specialists in the above mentioned areas. All of the children had also hearing test and consultation with a nutritionist. Siblings of sick children remained in the care of our volunteers and employees. As in the case of January stay, this stay was intended to improve the functioning of children and give support to theirs parents. At the end, parents received specific suggestions for further work with children at home.

The first therapy stay

On 26-30 January 2015 the Foundation organized a therapy stay for three beneficiaries. During that stay our pupils had the individual psychological, pedagogical and neurologopedic therapy as well as individual physiotherapy. The children had also a hearing test. Parents of sick children had their own activities such as workshops with teacher, psychologist, neuro speech therapist, physiotherapist. The issue of these classes has been adapted to the needs of parents and included, among other things: the use of FM systems in the treatment of a child; central hearing disorders - symptoms of diseases and the possibility of hearing treatment; support of concentration and auditory attention of a child, the structure of the brain responsible for speech; speech therapy in conjunction with sensory integration therapy. Parents could also find out what does music therapy is and why it is worth to use it in the child's therapy. They could meet the elements of pedagogical therapy in the process of speech therapy rehabilitation; as well as learn massage with elements of reflexology. The stay was intended to improve the functioning of children and give support to parents in theirs daily care of sick children.
