They took third place in the international competition named: "Interconnection and Communication with the Islands of Today and Tomorrow - BERING STRAIT PROJECT" published by the Foundation for Peace and Union, based in Korea.
For the first time in the history Poles won a prize in the architectural competition of such importance organized under the auspices of the prestigious International Union of Architects - UIA (www.uia - architectes.org). So the jury rated the draft Polish architects:
"Interconnection and Communication with the Islands of Today and Tomorrow" - BERING STRAIT PROJECT: "The panel unanimously concluded that this project is one of the most successful and unconventional version uses symbolic geometry. The concept refers to the visionary eighteenth-century projects such as " Ledoux 's Cenotaph " by defining the sphere as dematerialized nebula. Streams energy tunnel pass through bedrock and explode in a geyser of light consists of colored , interwoven strings enclosed within a split sphere geodesic. Jury particularly appreciated the potential of the team in expressing great , original and yet scandalous vision of global unity and peace in the world."
The Foundation has helped young architects to create a DVD presentation showing the award-winning concept and to organize their trips for this year's festivals: LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL and DESIGN FESTIVAL in Singapore, where he showed his project.
We also believe that Poland can participate in the great events of this world!
